Biography

Sacha's radio career started on the pirate radio station based in her hometown of Nottingham; Globe 107.7fm. Whilst there she was offered an opportunity to help launch Choice 102.2 in Birmingham. Sacha's specialist 'Flava Zone' show attained impressive listening figures consistently over 2 years and her the reputation as a very competent and engaging broadcaster.

Gaining a vast amount of radio and club experience Sacha made the bold move to go Japan. A place she had always been intrigued with. After networking, she gained the opportunity to do what she enjoys most - entertaining the crowds and playing music - whilst building a name for herself, as 'GENKI GIRL', which is Japanese for ‘Happy & Enthusiatic'. After 3 memorable years in Japan, where she learnt to prepare Sushi and speak the Japanese language, she felt a sudden urge to return to the UK and re-kindle her love affair with UK Commercial radio.

She secured a contract with Vibe 105 - 108 (now Kiss) covering the East of England and later the Vibe Network, including Vibe 105 in Bristol. The station director at the time, Nigel Taylor, says "Vibe was missing something, I didn't realize what it was until Sacha's portfolio ended up on my desk. It was her".

Sacha proved herself to be an excellent broadcaster and Club DJ. It was not long before Sacha was approached by Galaxy Birmingham to come back and do the 'Flava Zone'. Global management realized Sacha's potential and promoted her to mid afternoons and then the Galaxy Mid Morning Network show. The Galaxy UK network included Galaxy 102.2 in Birmingham, Galaxy 102 in Manchester, Galaxy 105 in Yorkshire, Galaxy 105 - 106 in the North East, Galaxy 105 in Scotland and Galaxy 105 South Coast.

With the rebranding of Galaxy to Capital, Sacha has returned to her beloved Birmingham City to do a show she has always wished to do; Mon - Fri, Drive, 4 - 7pm. "It will be great to be able to focus just on 1 city, My Brum Brum”. She also presents Birmingham's Specialist Urban show on a Saturday night playing Hip Hop, Dubstep, UKG, Funky, RnB and DnB. Capital Radio will now broadcast the show across the Capital Network. Which will see Sacha on air in new area's such as the East Midlands, South Wales and London for the first time!

Sacha has embraced her passion for music throughout her career and has recently presented an online TV series for Impulse True Love Body spray, has done numerous voice-overs and hosted the highly acclaimed Music Video & Screen Awards with Wil Johnson.

Be sure to tune into Sacha Brooks, Monday to Friday, 4pm to 7pm. Saturday, 8am to 12pm on Capital Birmingham and Saturdy Night 2am to 5am across the Capital Network.
