So on the show last weekend, I played a track from an American group called Krewella. Its a HEAVY dubstep track called ‘Killin It’ produced by Rain Man. The duo are twins and both DJ’s. Its amazin how a break can help renew life and the passion we have for it. I went to Dubai to visit my brother. I really didnt do much, as this is the 4th time I have been here. On a tourist tip – make sure if you ever goto Dubai, you check out the fountains by the Burj Khalifa. You’ll know which building it is- the tallest one in Dubai! The fountains are synced to music, on my trip there, it was MJ and BAD! It was pretty Bad Ass tbh!

Even though it is strict in Dubai, the club & radio scene’s are rather exciting. Lots of clubs inc Chi, Sensations and of course the beach parties on Nasimi Beach are a must. Its not as strict as people expect. However, it basic level of respect is alot more than in UK. RESPEK!

Really happy to be back in UK and excited all over again about 2012! Year of the Dragon! Kung Hei Fat Choi!

I usually play out on NY’s but not this year. I decided to stay at home and have a house party. Wo Woi what a party it was.

No one had to queue to get in, queue at the bar for a drink or pay silly taxi prices to get home. That has to be the worst thing about NY, the obscene amount of money you spend.

House parties are definetly the way forward, just becareful who you invite and also…Always better to have less than too many guests. I now start the NY with a full rack of wine, get in!

Iv just finished reading ‘Black By Design’ an autobiography by Pauline Black, she was the lead singer of ‘The Selector’ the 2 Tone revolutionaries. The book was gifted to myself from a lady I have recently met.

I was totally blown away by Pauline’s account of her life growing up as an adopted mixed race child in 50’s & 60’s Britain. When the words Coon and Golliwog were part of the usual language of people on the streets.

I was enlightened to see how this great and almost forgotten ‘ORIGINAL’ Rude Girl had to endure the harsh realities that I have never really experienced. I am thankful to Pauline for her honesty and insight. She is my new hero!

Black By Design is a great read, I highly recommend it, I caned it in 3 weeks, that’s how much I loved her story.

Here are some pics from a recent event I attended. The Movie, Video and Screen Award’s is in it’s 4th year and as part of the Birmingham Film Festival, celebrates with this award ceremony.

 Olga Fedori from Holby City was there, she had a great time, picking up an award for the show. In attendance also was new Dr on the ward, Wil Johnson, who was also in Waking The Dead and Waterloo Rd.

 Wil is currently doing a theatre production in Liverpool, which I hope to go see soon!

If your a Holby fan – which I am, then you’ll recognize ‘Nr Nice Guy’ Jimmy Akingbola. He hosted the event along with Jacqui Joseph.

 In this pic, we  were joined by BBC newsreader and award winner, Clive Myrie. Who was very well spoken but my kinda man after a whisky or two

Its the Dubstep awards in Birmingham at the end of November, so watch out for pics from that. Should be a big one.
